This week’s article featuring Dr. Indra Narang, of SickKids Toronto, is a retrospective analysis of clinical characteristics of childhood narcolepsy. The aim of this study was to describe the clinical characteristics of childhood narcolepsy, specifically focusing on cataplexy subtypes that may facilitate early recognition of narcolepsy. Dr. Narang is a recipient of Wake Up Narcolepsy research grant and on the WUN’s Medical Advisory Board.
Dr. Narang’s current research focuses on the impact of Narcolepsy on mental health in children and their families. Dr. Narang is qualitatively exploring the symptoms of narcolepsy on the quality of life and functioning in adolescents.
